Using the Hanger

Major takeaways from using the hanger so far

  1. According to the hanger my swing with a 7 iron should be shallower. This changes my angle of attack.
  2. I was probably flipping my hands a bit at impact, keeping the hanger against my left forarm requires me to rotate more and release later than I have been.
  3. I immediately started hitting shots very thin, losing them to the right (slice)
  4. I was able to feel more control if I concentrate on my knuckles pointing towards the ground at impact and then rotating my left hand so its facing the sky in the follow through.
  5. Also trying the swing thought of sweeping the ball like a broom / hockey stick. Dynamic loft should be lower. You wouldn't flip a broom with your hands to sweep.

Golf notes Good Friday

  • Didn’t start well at all
  • Drives were big slices
  • Topped everything
  • Realized I wasn’t pivoting around front foot and didn't have weight on my front feet.
  • How do I play short shot in rough?
  • Need to work on drives with new approach. Maybe with hanger
